Fabulous Hair – Anthony Morrocco’s 2014 Lunar Hair Cutting Chart

hair chart 2014You can dramatically heighten  your hair’s beauty, length, strength, and thickness by knowing exactly when to cut your hair, says expert Anthony Morrocco, There are special energy days when clipping can excite your hair’s growth rate to lengthen your tresses and strengthen your roots, follicles and bulbs to improve resiliency. You can promote new growth cycles to thicken, directly shock your roots to send your entire growth cycle into high gear, or fine tune texture, sheen, and waviness to beautify. These dates occur several times a month. Knowing and using them can make a huge difference in your hair’s health and beauty.

The human body is over 80% water, he explains. Like tidal ebbs and flows, its growth cycle is influenced by the moon’s gravitational pull. For centuries we have followed the moon’s cycles to determine when to plant and harvest crops. Planting during a particular lunar cycle determines what the crop will yield, and often how much it will yield. This same practice can be applied to your hair. It’s called Lunar Hair Care.

Anthony Advocates Blunt Snip Hair Cutting Shock Treatment.

Blunt Cutting for Men

He says hair cut in this manner on the dates listed in his Lunar Chart below is equivalent to 8 to16 acupuncture treatments, moving toward the high side of the scale with the full moon (FM) and higher still as the full moon occurs during a Solstice or Equinox. Cutting on days not included in his chart can actually inhibit hair health and abort growth entirely. Listed below are the days for “super cuts.”

Most Beneficial Haircutting Days

The four most optimal times to cut or trim your hair this year are:

March 19-20 — Spring Equinox

June 21-22-23 — Summer Solstice

September 26-27-28 — Fall Equinox

December 17-18-19 — Winter Solstice

Please Note: All dates given are based on Pacific Standard Time, Northern Hemisphere. If you live outside of this time zone, recalculate the dates for your time zone and hemisphere. Days listed are 24 hours, so mid-date is the most beneficial.

What do the Different Benefits Include?

What does it mean to my hair if I cut on a Beautify or Root Work or any of the other beneficial days?

Other Influences on Hair Growth

Hair growth can also be influenced by seasonal changes, excess stress, a low thyroid, iron or zinc deficiency, medications, a recent illness, and hormonal changes, including menopause or childbirth within the last three months. Hair care products with harsh chemicals, tight braids, head bands, or curlers can cause temporary follicular damage. Small microorganisms, like a migrating eyebrow mite, often mistaken for male pattern baldness, can be eliminated. Essential oils and herbs, adrenal cortex extract, bio-identical hormone replacement and natural hair products can also offer benefits. Enjoy this article? Feel it’s of value? I’m from EUROPE (ROMANIA, BUCHAREST) I understood that All dates given related to Best Haircutting Days in 2014, are based on Pacific Standard Time, Northern Hemisphere and that if I am live outside of this time zone, it is necessary to recalculate the dates for our time zone and hemisphere, i.e for EUROPE TIME.
My question is: How can I have the chart for the Best Haircutting Days in 2014 for EUROPE TIME?

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hello Luminita,

You might try contacting Anthony Morrocco’s support team to see if they can help you. You can click on this link to his site “Anthony Morrocco” and scroll down to “Contact us” to email or phone. However, you may want to try using The World Clock first. I hope this helps.

      My very best,

  2. Does he (Morrocco) use a Mayan lunar chart? How does he come up with those dates anyway? What combo of charts does he use? I remember your hair articles from THE LIGHT years ago. yahhhh I found you at last. How cool. I do want to grow my hair past my feet.

Have you heard of mira oil or cobra kit oil for growing long hair fast and healthy?
    Please write back.

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi John,

My gosh, “The Light,” pleased to meet you. Regarding Anthony Morrocco’s chart, I really can’t tell you what his secrets are. You might try to contact his support team if you are looking to plot your own calendar. You can click on this link to his site “Anthony Morrocco” and scroll down to “Contact us” to email or phone. I do know that the chart works and so do the people who anxiously await the new calendar at the turn of the year.

The cobra oil and the mira oil both contain traditional Ayurvedic oils that have been used forever to grow hair and prevent graying. Keep up the good work on your hair.

And in answer to your question on lengthening, you cut only on the lengthen days.

  3. ooops one more question
If I want to lengthen hair, do I just cut only on lengthen days for 12 months? I already have shoulder length hair and want longer.

  4. Sarah Goring says:

Wow….I want my hair to grow fast and healthy and just cut it today because I had some really dry ends. Today is 11/1, which according to AM’s chart will retard growth. How can I “correct” this to ensure that I get back on track with growth?

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Sarah,

Just wait until the next hair cutting date on the chart.

      • Hi! I’ve been struggling for years to get my hair to go beyond my shoulders. After I find great growth, I just as quickly find my hair breaking and shedding, unable to retain that growth. I don’t know if you can help with this, but you seem to offer great advice. Is it better to do cut on strengthening days? Or lengthening days? I just feel so discouraged and at a loss of how to move forward. Thanks for any advice you can provide!

        • Julia M. Busch says:

          Hi Toi,

The third video down in the post above tells of the Five Elements and which days to cut depending on your hair type. Select whichever you feel applies most to your situation, but always mix it up with “rootwork” days and be sure to blunt cut your hair.

Definitely check out Anthony’s hair products, expecially his shampoos which are mud based, cleansing and detoxing the scalp. Shampoos and diet and overall haircare, of course figure into the mix. But working with the Morrocco Lunar Chart and blunt cutting should certainly make a difference.

  5. I forgot to trim on the lengthening days of Jan 2014 using Morrooco Method.can I trim my hair up until the full moon in the sky(full moon hour) and still take advantage of growing it longer?

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hello John,

Anthony is quite specific about the dates for hair cutting. All the other days, he says, either slow or abort growth. Check the next date on his calendar and follow the schedule.

  6. I live in New York City and want to trim to thicken my hair. Anthony’s chart says January 14-15 are best because of full moon, but the full moon is scheduled for 11:52 PM on January 15. Does this mean it’s best during the 24 hour period after this point?

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Annie,

It’s best to cut your hair around this point, the very best time being mid-point. Since EST has only a three hour difference relative to PST, just calculate according to that three hour difference, so for example 4:00 pm EST is 1:00pm PST. I hope this helps.

  7. what are the ingredients of mira oil and cobra oil kit and can I purchase them in california? How do they work anyway I am so fascinated by growing long hair fast.

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi John,

I’ll answer your question in two parts. Relative to the Mira oil, let me first preface by saying: if you are taking medications, please consult your doctor before using. (And in case any pregnant ladies are reading and interested, avoid using this product if you are pregnant). These are powerful herbs. That being said, ingredients are, according to the product page: Henna, Aloe vera, Eclipta alba, Hibiscus, Amla, Coconut oil, Tridax procumbens (coat bottons), Cuscuta reflexa, Asiasari Radix, Sophora flavescens, Ocimum gratissimum, Ginkgo biloba, Rosmarinus officinalis, Thuja occidentalis leaf, Citrullus colocynthis, Trigonella (Fenugreek), and Grape seed oil.

Re: Mira oil works: As you are probably aware. the skin, including the skin on the scalp, is a two-way envelope, “inhaling” and “exhaling.” And as I said, in my book Treat Your Face Like a Salad, “what’s applied to the skin, winds up within.” So when you apply Mira oil, it is absorbed into your scalp and works to remove toxins from the bloodstream; it exfoliates the scalp, and prevents DHT from forming, to allow your natural hair to grow optimally.

Relative to purchasing in California, I don’t know, but I usually find the best buys on products on Amazon. You can find customer reviews and more information here.

Relative to the Cobra Oil, ingredients seem to be much less available. What I did find for you was the following, “Cobra hair kit is a unique formulation prepared from the extracts of Bhringraj, Amla, Nimbus, Amervela, Neem, jatamansi, olive oil, almond oil, sesame and many other secret Indian herbs.” The only retailer I found on line is located here. You can write to the seller for more information.

  8. THank you so much for the mira oil and cobra kit [iformation]. I just might try both if I am not sure which one to try. WIll that hurt my hair to grow faster and longer? Any vitamins, amino acids, shampoos, etc that would help?
THank you. THis is my fun project to start on myself. As long as its safe.

    Thanks again
WIll you be getting the lunar chart every year?

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi John,

You are very welcome. Your best bet is to try one program you feel comfortable with and stick with it for a while and see how it works for you. Anthony Morrocco has great products (shampoos, conditioners, etc.) and a very healthy, natural approach to beautiful hair as you already know from his Lunar Calendar. If you haven’t as yet, check out his website.

As to supplements for longer, shinier hair:
Low iron levels, especially in women of child-bearing age, can be an issue since iron carries oxygen to hair to promote growth. (Important: check with your health care provider as to how much iron or any mineral you should supplement with on a daily basis.) Alternatively, eating foods rich in iron such as egg yolks, lentils, spinach and chicken can help.

Vitamin D is needed for hair follicle cycling, especially if you live in parts of the world where sunlight is limited. This may also help with eczema and atopic dermatitis. Foods helpful in this area are salmon, mushrooms, beef liver and grains.

If you exercise heavily or tend to sweat a great deal, you may want to look into the hair growth mineral zinc. 15-30 mg daily is generally recommended. High zinc foods include lamb, turkey, pumpkin seeds and chocolate.

B-complex Vitamins, especially biotin, niacin and cobalamin can be found whole grains, eggs, avocados and legumes.

Collagen (this one is, in my opiion, the best) supplementation and silica are also excellent, depending in what your needs are.

Again, check out Anthony Morrocco’s site. He has information on how to brush your hair and other helpful information.

I have published Anthony’s Calendar for about 6 years now. So I am guessing that we will continue to pass on his fantastic days to snip and cut.

  9. john again says:

Does castor oil wwork for regrowing the hair folliclses back as well as thickening them? The same for wild growth and camelia oil(oil the samaris used in japan: for that oil does it grow hair faster or just protect it.)

I love this forum to ask questions.

  10. Can you please tell me the most beneficial days to cut hair in Europian time, I live in Southeast Europe.
    Thank you

  11. I found out more oils that can grow hair very fast. Any way you know if they are genuine or not if I send them.
Also, my mom does not like the makeup ingredients in makeup. Where can she find healthy ones that are more than natural(as labels tend to sy nowadays). And lastly, the sides of my hair on down to the nape of neck are short hairs until about 2 inches up towards the head. WHy does that happen to some and not others?

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi John,

I appreciate your confidence in me, but you have a great deal to work with now. I suggest you try what feels good to you and see how they work. Again, Anthony Morrocco has some of the best products out there. I also suggest that you ask the hair care guru Anthony Morrocco himself your question relative to your particular pattern of hair growth.

Tell your mother, I will be posting an article on healthy makeup ingredients in the near future.

      My best,

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi John,

I see you are very enthusiastic about your hair’s health and growth. There is much to research in this area and so much information on the web. If you are interested in research, type your questions into the search engines’ search bar and try what interest’s you. I personally like that Anthony Morrocco already has a system in place but I can also understand the adventure of discovery. Have fun!

Tell your Mom I expect to be doing more posts on natural cosmetics in the near future.

And you might want to ask Anthony Morrocco, the hair guru himself, about your personal hair growth patterns. It’s beyond my area of expertise.

  12. Hi, i need some advice please i have always had really thick hair but in the last 6 months or so my hair keeps falling out and thinning i have been tested for thyroid and deficiencies but all is clear i have changed all hair products to natural for about 3 months now and take supplements along with biotin,i don’t dye hair and eat pretty healthy…. is there any thing i can try to help hair re-growth and thickening, also i live in England so how should i calculate the best time for cutting my hair .
    thanks nina

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Nina,

Have you been under a great deal of stress lately? If so, a product that will support your adrenal levels might help, and especially some sort of stress relieving activity, such as yoga, biofeedback or just getting out and kicking up your heels, dancing… And definitely Anthony’s Lunar Calendar will too. To find the right times in the UK by accessing the international clock.

Note that it takes about three months for differences to show once you start a new program.

  13. Wow!! Where have ya’ll been all my life?? I’m 62, been battelling baby fine hair all my life, now it’s getting so thin around the crown my “pink!!” scalp is shinning through. I wanted to cut to thicken, but now I see the root work info, which I’d never heard of. Does the shock effect promote thckness also? Which would benefit me more? Thanks so much for the help!

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Tere,

This may sound very odd. But as I was tuning into you specifically with kinesiology, while some of the months varied, I was predominantly finding that “lengthening” was the most advantageous for you. Why? I have no idea. Any of the dates would be beneficial and logically “thickening” would be the best, but, again, for some reason, I am getting “lengthening” with “beautify” coming in second. I hope this helps.

  14. I want to grow my hair faster and longer? When should I trim it, if I am in the gulf time zone?

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Dina,

Check the World Clock. You can enter the city closest to you and compare it with one such as San Francisco with is located in the Pacific Time Zone and calculate your time to cut.

  15. Hi! I am getting a cut on March 19th and just want to understand something…… How exactly did you determine which days were best for lengthening hair? I thought it was to be based on the lunar chart of a full or new moon…. I checked many charts and noticed the days listed were not always on a full or new moon. I am unsure which is best to grow hair full or new. Maybe you could explain it better to me x) tyvm!

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Shirley,

Anthony Morrocco’s Lunar Chart is unique. It takes much more into consideration that the full or new moon. I personally know that Anthony’s chart works. We have been publishing it for some years now and readers begin to write in around the end of each year wanting to know when the new dates will be posted.

  16. Hi there! I have a salon appointment the 19th but how do you determine a good day for hair lengthening? I thought it had to do with a new or full moon or something but I saw the dates suggested do not follow either pattern. Can you please explain? Tyvm!

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Shirley,

Anthony Morrocco’s Calendar uses a unique system. Just look for “Lengthening” and cut on the day indicated. Simple. Anthony does the work. We reap the benefits. If you are not in the Pacific Time Zone, adjust the time/date.

  17. Hi! I don’t get it. It is March 19th today and It’s waning moon, not full moon. If I cut it today or tomorrow wouldn’t I slow hair growth? Am I supposed to cut my hair when it’s full moon in Pacific Standard Time zone or when the full moon is in my country?

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Angela,

Anthony Morrocco’s Lunar Calendar is unique. He calculates in many factors. You blunt cut your hair on the dates listed. If you are not on Pacific Time, go to the World Clock to coordinate the time. GO BY THE DATES LISTED.

  18. veronica says:

For conern. My scalp on my crown is very scaly. Why is that. In regards to your lunar days for cutting hair etc does marry with London Englands and I am not sure how to use the world clock to translate. Please help as my hair deterioration is making me depressed. Thank you

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Veronica,

May I suggest that you go directly to Anthony Morrocco’s site and contact support. Anthony and his staff can better answer your questions. You’ll see a “chat with us” at the bottom of the page.

  19. I have NEVER had long hair. Seem to get to shoulders and stops growing. I have been using conditioning no lather shampoo. When I found your website I though finally someone who knows what they are talking about. Thanks for all the info! Started cutting your way a few months ago, already see a difference. I do have a problem with hair spray. How do I stop using it? It has to cause more damage but with my job can’t have hair hanging in my face and clips ponytail holders do damage too? Plus I look awful with hair pulled back (it’s thin) Any advise would be appreciated 🙂 Health IS Wealth

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Erin,
I suggest you go to Anthony Morrocco’s site. His Blood of the Dragon styling gel should solve your problem nicely while feeding your hair with all natural, organic nutrition. It provides light to medium hold while conditioning hair with pure aloe and rare cactus proteins.

  20. How does camillia oil speed up hair growth (samurais used it) and viviscal (those fishy tablets advertised on the web). Also does hair plus shampoo really help the hair grow longer and faster?

    Locks of love

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Leanne,

I Apologize for taking my time in answering. I wanted to look into as much information I could before responding to your questions.

Relative to camellia oil, the proper question might be “Does camillia oil speed up hair growth”

Of and by itself, I would say, no… it helps to repair, enhance and moisturize, but not actually speed up hair growth.., but having said that, I might add, it depends on whether your hair follicles are so entrenched with gunk that a little deep “oiling” might help loosen debris to clean the scalp and in that way allow more oxygen and nutrients into the scalp and follicles to enhance growth.

There are many natural oils that benefit the hair and scalp, including the now popular argan oil. Jojoba, even coconut and olive oil can help enhance. And I remember my mother giving herself castor oil hair and scalp treatments, which, although messy, are still used today.

My personal preference is Anthony Morrocco’s Euro Oil treatments, a proven, holistic regimen for optimal hair and scalp care and maintenance. The Euro Oil contains almond, avocado, and jojoba oils to stimulate the sebaceous glands and restore the natural pH balance of the scalp. I know his oils, as well as his other products, have ingredients that are pure, raw, handpicked, and are highly energized, and blended and bottled holistically. To me, vitality and purity are very important.

So here’s what many natural, pure, organic oils can do since they include a plethora of antioxidants, fatty acids (such as omega 3), vitamins and minerals. They can help feed and hydrate the hair in a natural way, restore shine and luster, penetrate the hair follicles and shaft to enhance the elasticity of the hair, treat damaged hair and split ends and strengthen weakened strands

Camilla oil, specifically, has been used by Chinese and Japanese women for centuries for conditioning and enhancing the hair, as well as setting the hair of Sumo wrestlers. Derived from the seeds of the camellia oleifera, camellia sinensis or camellia japonica tree, camellia “tea tree” oil is extremely high in antioxidants and vitamins including A, B, C and E.

It improves hair elasticity and helps to soothe dry scalp. Absorbed into the scalp without leaving an oily residue, camellia oil is an excellent moisturizer. You can massage a few drops into the scalp and leave it on overnight. Or you can generously apply the oil to your scalp and wrap your head with a warm, wet towel, shampooing after treatment.

Composed mainly of oleic acid (80%), camillia is one of the most penetrating oils, which allows it to hydrate and clean pores and follicles without greasy residue. This, in turn, permits oxygen and nutrient access.

Some people do claim the oil has thickened their hair and eyebrows. Others believe that it has restored the natural color to graying hair.

A theory as to how camellia oil could possibly help with enhancing hair growth includes the fact that the key to healthy hair is healthy follicles. Commercial shampoos are alkaline – not good for the hair. Age and environmental dirt clogs follicles to rob their health. Camellia oil deeply penetrates and cleans follicles, removing dirt and other impurities. This stimulates increased hair cell activity and hair cell-division. The end result may be that your hair grows more quickly, becomes healthier and stronger, while inactive hair cells are “awakened,” becoming active again. There may also be increased production of melanin which reverses the graying process.

So I leave the final decision to you. You can see the product here.

Does the supplement Viviscal accelerate hair grow? According to the manufacturer, Viviscal has 5 clinical trials that prove it accelerates hair growth. You can find a double-blind placebo study here.

You can see the product here.

The down side is that some people have reviewed the product, saying, that while they were thrilled with the accelerated hair growth, a negative side effect was cystic acne which caused them to stop using the product. See the reviews here.

Does Hair Plus Shampoo help hair grow faster?

I don’t know. I would not be interested in a product that had the following ingredient list:
“Shampoo Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cocamide DEA, Carboxymethyl, Chitin, Hydrolysed Keratin, Hydrolysed Soy Protein, Egg Shell Extract, Alcohol, Camphor, Pyridoxine HCI, Parfum, Propylene Glycol, 5 Bromo-nitro-1.3-Dioxan, Methylparaben, Citric Acid, CI 42090 Conditioner Aqua, Paraffinum Liquidum, Cetearyl alcohol, Tallow alcohol, Ceteareth 20, Carboxymethy Chitin, Hydrolysed Keratin, Hydrolysed Soy Protein, Egg Shell Extract, Lecithin, Alcohol Camphor, Pyridoxine HCL, cetearalkonium Bromide, Benzalkonium Bromide, Cetareth 12, Parfum, methylparaben, parfum, Citric Acid.”

Additionally, while clinical studies were mentioned in the marketing, I couldn’t find one online. See product and reviews here.

When all is said and done, I, personally, would rather have a solid, proven system in place with a manufacturer and hair care guru, like Anthony Morrocco, who totally commits to passionate hair care and has organic shampoos, styling gels, and an entire line that targets my particular hair type and as part of that system has a proven chart to tell me right down to the day when I should cut my hair.

      I hope this helps.

  21. can the lunar charts be reused every 4 years? How do leap years affect the cutting dates?

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Damon,

The charts are not reused at all. Anthony Morrocco re-charts the cutting days every year.

  22. Hello Sir,

I am a 25 year old girl and i am suffering from extreme hair loss since my 13th. Since my 19th my hair started to thin as well and the quality of my hair has really gone backward. Now I have 1 – 10th of my hair left over and it is very stressful and depressing in many ways. I have not done anything to my hair such as coloring or straightening etc. I have heard of your Lunar Hair Cutting Chart with dates, goals etc. My main goal is that first of all my hair loss stops, secondly my hair grows back and becomes thick and full like it was before, and my third goal is that my hair becomes strong and at last i want long hair. Currently my hair is a bit longer than my shoulders.

    My Questions:

    1) In one of your video’s you explain that you can choose a few goals. For example thickening, beauty, lengthening. But on the website they say that u should choose one. What is the right information?

    2) I have heard that you should only cut your hair from a new moon until the moon is a full moon. And that you should not cut hair when the moon starts to get smaller after a full moon and until it disappears before becoming a new moon again. They say that in the first period you can promote hair growth and in the second period it will slowdown hair growth. So that its bad to cut hair after a full moon when it starts go become smaller again.. Now i am confused because on your lunar hair cutting chart it shows all different dates with different goals all over a month no matter if it is after a full moon??? I don’t understand this could you please be kind to explain?

    3) Can i get some personal advice on my hair cutting dates? And could i get your email address to get in touch for more information and questions if possible?

I see this new Lunar Method as a new hope for my hair because i had just gave up and that my hair would never ever be the same again.

Thank You so much in advance… and I will be waiting for your reply… could you please get in touch with me as soon as possible?

Miss Mirza (I have also posted this on your other website moroccomethod.com)

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hello Mirza,

This is Julia Busch, I will give you a link to Anthony’s Morrocco’s page at the bottom of this note so that you can contact his support staff directly. But first, a few of my own thoughts.

You say you started losing hair around your 13th birthday. This makes me wonder if: one, you could have suffered severe emotional stress at that time that could still be affecting your hair growth and, two, if some hormonal change occurred, since many women begin menstruation at that time, and also, if you have had any blood work done by your physician to see if you have a possible thyroid or other systemic issue that may need balancing or supplementation.

Definitely check out Anthony’s hair products, especially his shampoos which are mud based; they cleanse and detoxify the scalp. Shampoos, diet, lifestyle and overall hair care, of course, will also figure into the mix.

Relative to question one: The third video down in the post above tells of the Five Elements and which days to cut depending on your hair type. Select whichever you feel applies most to your situation, but always mix it up with “rootwork” days and be sure to blunt cut your hair.

Relative to question two: Anthony Morrocco’s Lunar Chart is based on his own unique system which takes more that the waxing and waning moon cycles into consideration.

And relative to question three: I suggest that you go directly to Anthony Morrocco’s site and contact support. You’ll see a “contact us” at the bottom of the page.

      I hope this helps.

  24. I have curly hair which takes ages to grow long and I have been trying for many years. As per this, when should I cut my hair now… on sept 26, 27 or 28 when the equinox is there to get max benefit or on sept 12 or 13th as is mentioned for lengthening the hair. plz advice. thanks

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Yesha,

The energy is at it’s most powerful mid-point. So if you can opt for one in September, it would be the 27th. The same with two dates. Select a reasonable time closest to the mid-point of the energy. I hope this helps.

  25. I would like to grow my hair longer ….but September has fall equinox so do I need to cut on dates of lengthening or go for equinox even though it’s for strengthening ..

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hello Lakshmi,

My personal feeling would be to go with the Equinox, long hair needs to be strong hair and there are 11 other months in the year to target lengthening. However, if you would like to contact Anthony Morrocco directly, you can contact him here.

  26. I have a family member who has a skin condition on the upper lip called actinickeratosis how can they cure it or reolve it? Thanks so much

  27. I’m a bit confused with figuring out the dates according to my NYC location. I did cut my hair on Sep 27th, but if I google “Fall Equinox”, the date is Sep 23, so I’m a bit confused here.

    • Julia M. Busch says:

I can understand your confusion. You, however, did the right thing.
The Anthony Morrocco’s Lunar Calendar is based on the optimal energy for hair cutting and won’t always coincide with the astrological charts.

  28. Hi,
My hair is naturally curly (spiral). I have noticed in the past few years my hair has gotten much thinner. I’m 42. I probably have about a third of the hair I used to. It was long and beautiful. I always got compliments. Now it it thin, scraggly and looks worse the longer it is. I just did my own blunt cutting according to the video yesterday. Everything I have seen regarding products for strengthening. thickening always seem to have some type of protein. I have found with much trial and error that products containing protein cause my hair to react horribly. It becomes limp, won’t curl, has a terrible straw-like consistency. I’m afraid to try things because of cost, more bad hair days than I already have. What can I do? I just want my beautiful hair back.

Hi ^^! My hair used to be really long but after years of straightening it and using chemicals and never trimming it, its short and breaking. Its not a vitamin deficiency because I take vitamins, my nails grow fast, and I am healthy. I have been working on restoring my hair, with success, but I really miss long hair. I want to cut my hair on the lengthening day this month. I was wondering if after this months trim, in a few months next time I trim my hair, if i cut it on a thickening day, will it still have the effects of the lengthening days trim? Or will my hair only have the effect of the thickening day since it was the most recent trim? And he long do the effects usually last? So basically do the effects of trimming on lunar days overlap and how long do they last? Thank youuuu! C:

    • Julia M. Busch says:

If the way you have treated your hair in the past is why your hair is now breaking, you may want to trim just a little bit off monthly until you eliminate all the damage. When cutting you may want to alternate between lengthening days and rootwork. Ultimately, everything begins at the root. What you apply and have applied to your hair in the past will have also affected your roots.

Just follow the Morrocco Chart and a big suggestion is to start using some of his products to add nutrients to your hair and scalp. Check out his site here.

  30. How can one enhance their hair by taking these supplements? What are the maximum dosages that won’t cause toxicity and that allow beautiful, surprising, and wonderful results.

1.MSM(methylsulfonylmethane),biotin,Collagen(1 and 3, 2 and 4),Omega’s(3, 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9’s and anything left in the 3 times table),Carnitine Tartrate – L-Carnitine,Amino Acids(Ornitine, Taurine,Cysteine),choline, inositol, biosil or silica,(anything else I missed that you know of?), chicken collagen, indian and chinese herbs and supplements, horesetail, skullcap, Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches(joke)

2.Removing and replacing the small mercury amalgrams on my teeth(TOP OF MOUTH: Right side, 2nd tooth from the back there is a small filling on the bottom of the tooth. Left side, 2nd tooth front he back there is a small filling on the bottom of the tooth. Both teeth have that identical filling on the bottom. They both are on the teeth part facing towards the inner part of the tongue NOT on the outer part towards the sides of the mouth. BOTTOM: Right side, 2nd tooth from back, there is amuch smaller filling on the side of the tooth part facing the wall of the mouth NOT the tongue area. I guess I would call it outermost part. Thats it. There have been some porcelain coverings on top of the back teeth on the lower part of the mouth AND thats hardly visible and my teeth had a sealant? That the dentist used when I was younger OR whatever it was called.) Are these teeth related to any organs, and how are they affected before and after I remove the mercury amalgrams?.DOes the porcelain thats used to replace the mercury have to be replaced evvery so often? If there are better ones in the future, can I replace the older porcelain fillings(that were used to replace the amalgrams)

3.Sides of head above ear (about 1.5 to to inches above ear is short hair then its long. It’s the same way if you go around the head all the way to the nape? of the neck / where the back of the head hairs end.) Cause of it and how to really grow that part long. Some people don’t have that why (I have seen it on hawaiian and asian womena with long hair. Even spanish women. I love their long body length hair).

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Ana,

That’s a nice list of supplements you’ve chosen, especially the peanut butter and jelly. 🙂 May I suggest that you find a good multi-vitamin-mineral supplement that is especially formulated for the hair in a synergy for optimal benefits. And rather than look for maximum dosages as your main goal (as everyone assimilates differently), but rather consistency in taking your supplements. And before taking any new supplements, I am obliged to tell you to check with your physician before taking them.

Replacing amalgam fillings, may or may not help your hair. The process of removing them is important. Be sure to talk everything over with a holistic dentist regarding the risks of removing and replacing your amalgams. He or she can also give you the best advice as to replacement materials. Sometimes replacement materials will cause other problems.

This is another question for your physician. The hair pattern you described may be genetic, and may be a form of female androgenic alopecia or, possibly, a mild form of alopecia areata. Your best diagnosis would come from your doctor and an examination.

      I hope this helps.

  31. What are the best kind of scissors to cut hair. Some I see are diamond coated and others are

titanium coated sccissors from con air.

How do I undo my grey hairs and skin vitiligo(I have a few on my hand and a few others in the

    private areas.

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Jeremy,

There’s a lot to know about scissors for cutting hair. I suggest you may find some answers in this informative article

Diet is important for both vitiligo (which is considered an immune issue) and grey hair which is considered to be the result of vitamin and mineral lack. This is one of the best articles I’ve found relative to reversing gray hair.

As to vitiligo, check out this page. You will notice there is much in common with gray hair and vitiligo, nutritionally speaking. This article may also offer not only dietary suggestions, but inspiration.

There are medical routes to also try, but in my opinion, there are risks involved. Lifestyle is ultimately the place to start.

  32. Hello, my hair used to be really thick when I was younger, but now it has become really thin (now a teenager). My mom says that it is due to stress, but I don’t know how to eliminate the stress, although I would like to counter its effects. My hair already grows fast, but I want my hair to be stronger, and thicken, and still grow at the same rate if not faster. Is this possible? If it is, I seem to be confused as to which dates would be the best for a haircut in my case. Also, I don’t cut my hair much but was/am hoping to cut my hair a lot (now around 2ft long; cut approx 5-6in) to give my hair a fresher start. And if cutting my hair this much is good, should I still do this with the blunt cut method or is it not applicable for larger amounts of hair being cut? Would that be good or bad for my hair? I also have dandruff, so I would like to know what would be best to control it?

If it helps, I have never colored my hair or anything similar. I straighten my hair from time to time and shampoo and conditioner are the only things that are applied to my hair. My shampoo and conditioner is currently Head & Shoulders. It has not significantly improved/controlled my dandruff issue.
I would also like to stop using straighteners, but cannot find any other way to keep my hair straight.

I also wear my hair up all the time, could that be a bad thing?
Also, albeit not hair related, because I am a teenager, I tend to break out sometimes, my skin is a combination type skin, since it is normal around the cheeks, oily t-zone, but sometimes and especially during the winter my forehead is dry. If possible, How can I balance out my skin and what would be good to stop it from breaking out so much and so often? (I do not use any type of makeup, never have. Also don’t use acne products – I use honey and use sugar to exfoliate. Looking for something natural with better results, that will not make my breakouts worse as soon as I stop using or following the routine.

    – Sorry for the boatload of questions!

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Roxana,

I don’t know what sort of stress you are under, but if that’s the cause of your hair thinning, you might consider getting some professional help for it, or practice meditating or yoga, or some other activity that will allow you to mellow out.

It doesn’t sound like you are using the best hair care products either. You want to use chemical-free hair products, all natural and organic are best. They may be a little more expensive to start, but if your hair is of value to you, the little extra will pay off in big hair health dividends. You might check out Anthony Morrocco’s products. In my opinion, he gives great value for the outcome and is totally committed to healthy hair care.

I am always intrigued as to why people want to straighten or curl their hair. We each have been given the gift of who we are and that includes curly or straight hair. I guess it’s human nature to want what we don’t have. Healthy, natural hair is beautiful just by being.

The Morrocco Lunar Calendar will benefit no matter what hair cutting day you choose. If you want thicker hair, choose dates for thicker hair, but alternate with rootwork days. Hair begins at the roots and you want a healthy root system. And, yes, blunt cut. You don’t need to take much off, but you may want to consider cutting about once a month.

I would definitely discontinue the straighteners. And if you wear your hair up all the time, I don’t understand the need for it to be straight, especially when straighteners are helping to destroy your hair. Is it possible to simply appreciate your God given gift as is? If you want long hair, you have to treat it with the respect that it deserves. And feed the roots so that it will grow healthy and long.

Wearing your hair up is not a bad thing if you are not pulling it tightly to stress the follicles. I recall my grandmother wearing her hair in a braided bun, but at night she brushed and rebraided and slept with a loose braid. She had lovely, long hair even in her sixties.

Again natural, organic products with a balanced diet and lifestyle is very important.

Regarding your skin, check your diet. Avoid chocolate and sweets. Stress will also take its toll on your skin, giving you breakouts. You may want to check out my book Treat Your Face Like a Salad for all natural skin care. It addresses all skin types individually and how to care for them. I hope this helps.

      My very best,

      • Thank you Julia. This helped very much in regards to the advice and the quickness of the reply.

        • Julia M. Busch says:

          Hi Roxana,

You might want to try this hair straightening method that uses NO HEAT or CHEMICALS. Woman Yes.

In case you want soft waves or even some controlled curls, this can also be done using ONLY WATER, not even bobby pins. You can see this how to also on Woman Yes.

  33. when do you get the new calendar(goodie goodies) for the hair? You wont delete all these posts since they are so informative. Wow thank you immensely. I make a toast(with purified water) that everyones ascendants and descendants live a prescription free and healthy life. Taxed in the least way(not just IRS)

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi John,

No information will be deleted when the new calendar comes out. When that will be I can’t say, but soon as it’s available, I will post it. Happy New Year!

  34. I once visited the rapunzel websitte and was looking through the site and pics of long hair fromt he beginning of the 1900s and found one lady(red hair) grew her hair 7 inches a month. Is that possible given the food that was eaten back then? Do you know what possible she used and waht I can take to have my hair grow 7 inches a month? I saw this on one of the clippings that had an article on her and I cant find it.

Have a merry hair follicle christmas
and a happy long hair new year.

Next july (I will double check) is a month with 2 full moons in the same month. Is that a powerful lunar day or waht.

    • Julia M. Busch says:

      Hi Ana Maria,

Seven inches a month sounds a bit radical considering the average hair growth yearly is about 6 inches. So I would venture to say that this woman either had a great publicity director or an abnormal biological condition. Happy New Year!

  35. WOw and thank you for all your help. Please dont ever retire from this. THis is such wonderful valuable help and information. Especially with the moon chart. I wonder if the folks on tatoon(star wars) had 50 moons they would have wonderful high tides for surfing and wonderful days for lengthening. (:-)

THank you and happy all a wonderful christmas and new year.
